Serme aims for Six in Nottingham

World No.3 & five time champion Camille Serme has confirmed that she will defend her title at this year’s AJ Bell ESF European Individual Closed Squash Championships.

Since winning her fifth European individual title last September, the 28-year-old French favourite has enjoyed a sensational run of form on the PSA World Tour, winning the 2016 U.S. Open as well as winning the Cleveland Classic and prestigious Tournament of Champions title earlier this year, and last week claimed the Gold Medal in the World Games in Wroclaw, Poland.

“It’s always a pleasure to play the European Individual Championships,” said the record nine-time French National Champion.

“Every occasion to play for my country is great and I want to honour the French colours.

“I’m really looking forward to competing at the University of Nottingham which my French team-mate Coline Aumard has told me has some wonderful facilities as well as a new state of the art all-glass show court.”

Hosted on behalf of the European Squash Federation in partnership with England Squash and University of Nottingham Sport, this year’s AJ Bell ESF European Individual Closed Squash Championships will mark the first occasion that the event has been staged in the British Isles.
