Willstrop and Whitlock to lead English EIC Charge

James Willstrop and Emily Whitlock will lead a strong English contingent at the forthcoming AJ Bell ESF European Individual Closed Squash Championships.

Former World No.1 Willstrop will be joined by fellow Englishmen Declan James, Josh Masters, Patrick Rooney and Charlie Lee and whilst World No.13 Whitlock will compete alongside compatriots Millie Tomlinson and leading junior Lucy Turmel in Europe’s most prestigious individual squash championships.

“England will be represented at the this year’s championships by a very strong group of players with experience mixed with youth in equal measure,” said England National Coach David Campion.

“Whilst James and Emily will of course be leading contenders for the respective men’s and women’s titles, with some of our top women players already committed to competing at the China Open the event will offer invaluable ‘big tournament’ experience for our younger English players which will include Lucy Turmel who is currently representing England at World Junior Championships in New Zealand.”
